How to avoid tool breakage when tapping with machine taps?

If we look at the entire tapping process, there are some critical process moments that can lead to sudden breakage of the machine tap. This can be prevented by using special tapping chucks that have an adjustable torque limiter. The quick-change chucks of the GSR tapping machine, for example, have such an adjustment option. After loosening the clamping ring, the torque limitation can be increased or decreased with the collet. (see above illustrations). In case of an overload function, for example due to an uncontrolled crash, the slipping clutch engages and the thread cutting process is stopped.
