There are resin luster revival chemicals to revive resin color, but there are also products that will turn white again in a relatively short time. In such cases, there are paints that can restore the black resin color image by painting after degreasing and cleaning the surface.

Many 80’s cowling models have a plastic stay and plastic body rearview mirror instead of a metal rearview mirror with a chrome plated finish like on naked bikes. These rear-view mirrors also have a whitened appearance, with only the stay portion crusting over first. The staying part can be washed in water with household detergent and dried, but for persistent stains, use a rag with acetone or other solvent and wipe directly to remove the stain before setting up the work.
